’Tis the fourth week of Advent, friends.
The first week, we light the Hope candle, encouraging us – with great urgency – to lift our eyes above our fear.
The Peace candle comes second, comforting us amidst Hope’s agitation.
Third, we light the Joy candle, reminding us that we always have reason to REJOICE.
The fourth week is all about Love.
Love, fittingly, comes last, for it is that which holds the other three themes together – and which holds us together within those three things.
May you know afresh this week, friends, how deeply you are held by and in the freedom – the unconditioned, unending YES – of Love.

Week 4 – LOVE
This week, we come to that of which our fear
Is but the shadow – to a truth so real
It cannot be compared to vapid cheer
Restoring all that worry sought to steal
This week, we find our fear’s run out of time
Hark! Herald angels knock at every gate
The veil between the earthly and sublime
Has thinned to ripping point through our long wait
This week, we sense our need to understand
Give place to trust: our far more pressing need
A trembling virgin lifts an open hand
In her surrender, let us hear – and heed:
While Fear demands, for each “What if?”, a guess
Love asks – and gives – the unconditioned “Yes”
